Is it harder for do follow blogs to get indexed?

October 22nd, 2008 by jason

The quick answer would be yes.

It is safe to say that it is harder to get indexed and harder to rank because you are doing the following:

  • effecting code to text ratio
  • the literal count of your out link’s are increased, most of which are not reciprocal and do no good
  • attracts a very different audience

I think that is enough reasons to not go any further because there is no real case for a argument here.

The benefits of having a do follow blog definitely out weigh the bad.

Dofollow blogs are good as long as there is some control over who gets followed or not. using a plugin like Lucias linky love lets you set a minimum number of comments before they’re followed.

set mine at 5 because the default is 3 and I regularly get comments in groups of 3 from a new user using keywords as their name. That tells me they are only after the link back and not to contribute so whenever I get 3 comments on seperate posts within minutes of each other I delete them all!
